Busy Moms need to look Trendy and Fashionable too
As busy mom's we spend most of our time taking care of others. We make sure the kids get to and from school and other activities. We make sure there are enough groceries in the house, plan what we are cooking for dinner or what we are going to pick up, we remind our kids of test and other important events. Actually, some of us even remind our husbands of events. We spend so much time doing for others that we often times put ourselves on the back burner and our sense of fashion drifts away.
We need to re-introduce ourselves to our sense of fashion and style. Even though we are busy,we still need to look trendy and fashionable. Believe it or not, our kids like to see us looking nice. They want us to BE moms but not necessarily LOOK like moms.
Here are a few simple tips to make life easier for working moms:
* Keep your wardrobe versatile. Purchase several separates that you can mix and match. Have a few blazers, lightweight jackets, and sweaters/cardigans on hand. Separates are great and provide versatility. Skirts, slacks and jackets allow you to mix and match.
* Jackets are great as you can throw one on with a skirt or slacks for a professional look or wear it with jeans for a casual Friday look.
* Keep part of your wardrobe basic. Neutral and basic colors lend themselves to easy use and flexibility. They go with anything.
* Remember to purchase your lingerie in colors that will not show through your outfits. In fact, a variety of colors is probably your best bet.
* Wear accessories with versatility, durability, and style.
* Select shoes that are durable (for running after the kids), stylish and comfortable.
One last tip: Lay your clothes out the previous evening.This will give you time to see if a particular outfit looks good. Otherwise, you are making clothing decisions in the morning along with trying to get everyone out of the house on time.
