Our Children Come Ready but Are We Ready for Them?
I had the pleasure of seeing a friend of mine's one month old granddaughter. The first thing I noticed was her beautiful bright eyes that didn't wander around but focused on me as I was looking at her. The second thing I noticed that although she was being held up on her feet, she was not wobbling but seeming to try to steady herself. One month old!
By completely unscientific study but close observation, I have noticed that our children seem to come into this world ready. Their eyes meet ours with a look that seems to say "bring it"
The question for us is what are we bringing them? We don't need to read statistics, all we need to do is look around our communities and better yet our homes and realize we're often not bringing the best to our children.
We have proven that we have the power to do whatever we need to do. I just hope it's not too late when we decide to wake up and do something about OUR children, bringing them everything they need to be the best which is the least they deserve.
