What Will Obama Becoming President do for African Americans?

Recently, I was asked the questions "do you think Obama becoming president will really do a lot for African Americans?". I thought about this question deeply and I believe that Obama becoming president will wipe away excuses for the many African Americans that think they will never be able to go but only so far.

I also think that Obama becoming president will also help in dis-qualifying some of the stereo-types that whites and other races have placed on African Americans.

I think that he will definitely help the African America race by just his example of perseverance and declaration that he could be anything that he wanted to be.
