2nd Announcement: One of the best kept secrets is a scholarship offered by the Dept. of Health & Human Services (HRSA); it applies to anyone going for a nursing degree, including AA degrees at community colleges, which take less time, are easier to get into, and still qualify people to take the RN exam. Like other scholarships, this scholarship pays for tuition but it also gives people $1200 a month to go to school so they can pay for expenses while going to school. If interested, go to the following web page and give them your email address so they can notify you as to when to fill out the application in April of 2010; you can use the money for programs starting in September of 2010. The application process is only open for a short time, but they announce recipients right away, for that same year. For some reason, many people don't even know this scholarship is availabe! Here is the web page (if you have trouble getting there, just google "nursing scholarship with stipend from HRSA"): http://bhpr.hrsa.gov/nursing/scholarship/a... Please tell others about this scholarship--its another reason to consider a nursing degree!
