Nursing Scholarship Pays Tuition & $1200 Monthly Stipend!
One of the best kept secrets is a scholarship offered by the Dept. of Health & Human Services (HRSA); it applies to anyone going
for a nursing degree, including AA degrees at community colleges, which take less time, are easier to get into, and still qualify people
to take the RN exam. Like other scholarships, this scholarship pays for tuition but it also gives people $1200 a month to go to school so
they can pay for expenses while going to school. If interested, go to the following web page and give them your email address so they can
notify you as to when to fill out the application in April of 2010; you can use the money for programs starting in September of 2010.
The application process is only open for a short time, but they announce recipients right away, for that same year. For some reason, many
people don't even know this scholarship is availabe! Here is the web page (if you have trouble getting there, just google "nursing scholarship
with stipend from HRSA"): http://bhpr.hrsa.gov/nursing/scholarship/a...

Mwannesi, I hope that the government actually expands the use of this type of scholarship, which they will if a whole bunch of us make our voices known, even if we are not ourselves going to nursing school. Tuition is not the only stumbling block for going to school--people also have to pay for personal expenses, which this scholarship addresses. I hope everyone tuning in takes 5 minutes to write their state Reps encouraging them to keep funding this program--as well as tell friends and kin about this opportunity.
