People may not realize it, but everything they say and do online is permanently recorded and may affect them later on, either positively or negatively, depending on what they said. Just as some native tribes of long ago, before the advent of "civilization," left implements and artifacts anthropologists later found, we are leaving our own brand of modern e-artifacts for future generations. These e-artifacts will tell people about us, who we were, and what we thought. In the more immediate future, this may affect our job-getting ability--in the long run, it will be the legacy we can either be proud of, or which will down-grade us as individuals and as members of an inquisitive and, hopefully, a more advanced global community.
