Are Our Expectations Too High???!!!
I was listening to a very popular pastor preach to his congregation and to world on a taped program this past weekend. Within his sermon he made many references to President Obama and his major achievement in making it to the white house.
I voted for President Obama so quite naturally I follow what he and his administration are doing especially in terms of the economy and health care.
My question to the world is this. Do you feel people, especially black people place too much of a high standard on President Obama? The man is NOT superman and so far he has made a few mistakes that have cost the country much money not to mention a deficit that will stretch into the next 3 or 4 generations and maybe beyond that.
Another question, if he were to 'fail' (which I am NOT speaking upon him by any means) who would be hurt the most? Of course we as a country would be hurt but how would we as black people in this country and around the world be affected. The bible says blessed is the man that trusts in the Lord (Jerm 17:7), do we place too much trust in a man who is just that, a man.
I love President Obama and his family, I just do not want people to place him in a position that is too high for him to maintain. No doubt he will do the best job as president that he can do but are our standards for him too high?
Your thoughts, please?

I have no doubt Prez Obama will put his best foot forward. I just want people to know that he is not a savior, he lives this life day by day just like the rest of us. WE have to also do our part. Notice his slogan wasn't yes I can it was yes WE can. I think the parading after the election was us showing our pride in america comig together and saying a black man is well capable of leading the 'leader of the free world' but please people do not place Prez Obama too high. Its not fair to him or yourselves. I'm 110% in his corner yet I'm no fool. He hasn't a clue no more than I do of how to get this country back on track BUT I know he is doin his best and I pray he continues to place GOD first and not his own understanding. If he does that we will have victory.
