What kind of retirement plan do you have in place? A few people I’ve talked to are questioning the wisdom of saving for the future. Once upon a time, anyone who had a full time job almost always had a full retirement plan to go with it. But, that isn't the case anymore. An increasing number of businesses are failing to offer retirement plans to their employees because of the cost to the company. Instead, many people are finding that if they want their golden years to be well-funded, they're going to have to see to it themselves.
Once you understand the importance of investing for your future, you must decide where to put your money. There are a number of ways to go, from Roth IRAs, to mutual funds , the stock market or any number of other investments you can consider. One major thing to keep in mind is the risk level that you're willing to take on. In order to save in a Roth IRA, 401(k) plan or elsewhere, one has to believe that it is a better use for their money than spending it today. One has to believe they have a future
If you're younger, you may be willing to live with greater investment risk in the hope of gaining larger rewards over time. However, on the other hand, if you're starting your investments at a little older age, you might want to be a bit more careful, since a shift in the economy could have a detrimental impact on your investment's growth and you'd have less time to recoup those losses. It is for this reason that I believe that your investment choices should be an expression of the values you hold in your heart, so that through your investments you both make money and help in the development of communities and important goods and services that are needed by humanity.
