Happiness Has No Age
On September 29th, I will celebrate my first year wedding anniversary. We are newlyweds, no different from any other newlyweds..we have ups and downs, we have had to adjust with living with another person, but it has been the best year of my life. The difference between us and other newly weds is...we are both in our late 30's and this is our first marriage.I was single with no options for at least 10 years. I figured that God had willed it for me to be the one in the family that was never married. I had dated all types of men...thugs,squares,white, black...but none were right. I had even done the "Friend with benefits"thing, but that wasn't me. Eventually, I just gave up.About four years ago, I met a girl that I worked with and we became buddies. I met her husband and her kids. She then told me that she wanted to introduce me to her husbands friend. I said no.....At first. On one of those lonely, cold nights, I changed my mind and we met at a party.I was not impressed. That is until the next day, when he called me and we talked for three hours straight. He was everything that I ever was looking for in a man and more. Respectful, sensitive(but no punk!), good sense of humor, NO KIDS(!!!!), and drama free. He had a good job and his own transportation. He was perfect. The Moral.....You're never too old to be happy!!
Congrats Jocelyn on your upcoming first year anniversary! What a milestone and I wish the two of you many more years of marital bliss.
