The number of people killed in July by police is much higher than June’s death rate of 80, according to the website.

Samuel Dubose was shot to death July 19th by University of Cincinnati police officer Ray Tensing following a traffic stop.

Dubose’s death attracted most of the national media attention because a Hamilton County grand jury indicted Tensing for murder and manslaughter.

Tensing was held on $1 million bail before being released. The university fired him, but he has demanded to be reinstated.

Despite the attention Dubose’s death received, police continued shooting people to death under different circumstances. Dubose was the 642nd victim of police deadly force this year.

Jeremy Hatch, 34, was the 682nd victim this year.

Hatch allegedly broke into a gun shop, fired at police who responded to the store’s burglar alarm. A police officer shot Hatch. He died in a nearby soybean field in South Londonderry Township, Pennsylvania.

He was killed July 31 along with four others in different states.

Hatch’s race isn’t known, but at least 20 of the shooting victims were black men. That number could change because the race of many of the victims was not specified.
