CROSS THE RIVER JORDAN

The River Jordan
is chilly and cold
Reach the other side
and God warms up your soul

You've got to do the work
He sent you here to do
And you will get there
so long before I do

Righteousness is the rule
as the river's running dry
You've got to keep your eyes
and your mind on the prize

Cause if you don't
you will be left behind
Your salary's eternity
is what you're gonna find

If you've got the message
if you're in the crew
Cherish every moment
they're precious and they're few

Everyone's a mirror
of the miracle within
You've gotta let the light shine
through the dark again

The river represents
the struggles you might fight
You've gotta pass the test
or you're gonna pay the price

If you're not a sinner
you'll never be a saint
It's not just what you are in life
it's also what you ain't

Not one man's got all the answers
not one man ever will
No one can tell another
but the signs surely will

Each person's got the power
to read the signs themselves
To get to heaven first
you've gotta go through hell yourself
