COLLEGE GIRLS EVERYWHERE ARMING THEMSELVES WITH PEPPER SPRAYS!
Since the world is not the safest of places, from the major cities to the smallest towns, and even the college campuses in between, many American college students, both male and female, need to have some sort of self-defense or personal protection item with them at all times. From the time they could walk, we're teaching our children to protect themselves: "Look BOTH ways before you cross the street!", "Don't talk to STRANGERS!", "Don't open the door to STRANGERS when I'm not home!", etc. But when they finish high school we push them out into a world full of STRANGERS! As parents, we tend to take for granted that what we taught our children about safety throughout childhood will surely keep them as young adults. Wake Up, Mother! Those old rules don't apply anymore. Not when our children are texting and "s*xting" and "hooking up" online with strangers, only they're calling them "friends". Young girls are especially vulnerable being away from home for the first time. Don't expect campus security to protect your child, there's simply not enough to cover the whole campus.
A college girl never knows when she may be taking a quick walk on campus, by herself, from one building to another, and sure enough, disaster strikes! Our female student is surprised by a stranger jumping out of nowhere to steal her wallet, or perhaps even worse!
Let's see those tables turned, and have the girl whip out a can of pepper spray and give the creep a good one second blast to the face! Most pepper sprays will shoot a stream at least a good 6 feet. Then the dumb bastard will have trouble breathing, seeing, and focusing on whatever it was he had planned to do to our young lady. His eyes will burn as if they were on fire! (Good for the illegitimate son of a female dog!) He will be coughing and choking, and our college girl who was ALMOST victimized can get away to safety. The pepper sprays also has an identifiying marking dye that can assist law enforcement in picking out the creep later on.
Mothers, if you have never had to hold your daughter's hand while a RAPE KIT was being done to her, consider yourself blessed. I have. I think it was more traumatizing for me than it was for my daughter because I had experienced it myself at the same age while serving in the military. My mother wasn't there to hold my hand, she was miles away. My daughter was a freshman in college at the time and she met her attacker at a church bible study group. Imagine that. If she had a pepper spray with her that night, her story would've had a different ending.
Today, ALL THREE of my daughters (and ALL my neices in college and out) carry non-lethal weapons for self-protection AT ALL TIMES!
So, with the various keychain pepper sprays, and even those designed to look like lipstick or even a pager, along with their very affordable price, there is NO REASON why every collge girl in America is not ARMED with one! I, for one, would like to see every female college student in the country be armed with one of these so their Mothers won't have to go through what I did!
