She Say She's saved

Look at that sista right there
She say she's saved
But she's far from perfection
When a man passes her way, her eyes follow in his direction.
She say she's saved
But her flesh is still weak
Sometimes she walks past us and won't part her mouth to speak.
She say she's saved
So I guess he hears all her prayers
She can't be that saved if she still swears.
She say she's saved
But I guess she's under construction
Turning to God helped save her from the road of self destruction.

Wow. Salvation is work in progress. Even paul stated that for all he's done for christ he still slips. He would still do things that he knew he shouldn't do but was grateful for his salvation. I love what you're saying but it kinda injures the already brittle self esteem of black women. Why can't we be allowed to have our days. As a mother I know I am far from perfection and will be be under construction till the day I die. Thank you Jesus for understanding.

Much love and blessings to you. Remember you never know another person's pain or past but a simple smile and small word of encouragement would go a long long way.

I wrote that blog because I always hear people say "And she calls herself a Christian". And that statement bothers me because people are so quick to judge when they have no idea of the true plight of a Christian. They fail to realize that when you accept Jesus, perfection doesn't come automatically. They don't realize that you're still of the flesh, and storms will still come.

Si I know a small word of encouragement goes a long way. I can't judge no one because I'm far from perfect. I keep in mind Matthews 7. May God's blessings be upon you.

Yeah you're right. I really wish we could get over that. But then again that may be thing that some of us need to perfect. :-). Keep posting your poems. You have such a keen sight.

Nice, I like it. I pastor often talks about "saints looking down their noses at others" We must remember that once upon a time, we were just like those we often look down upon.

I LEAN ON THE WORD IN MATTHEWS 7. THEN I REMEMBER THE SONG I USED TO HEAR GROWING UP "PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH ME GOD IS NOT THROUGH WITH ME YET." ACCEPTING JESUS CHRIST IS A JOURNEY. GOD WANTS US TO BE HUMBLE. TOO MANY PEOPLE CAST STONES BECAUSE THEY'RE TO AFRAID TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR.
