Where was Condeleezza Rice?

I have heard everything from "She had to stay in the bunker in case of terrorist attacks" to "She's signing book and lecture deals." Will someone who REALLY knows please explain why Former Secretary of State Colin Powell was present at the Presidental Inauguration, but there was no mention of Ms. Rice at all? Her absence was not noted. Other sites say "Packing up" or "Who cares?" However, I'm searching for a real honest informative answer: WHERE WAS SHE?
