HOLLOWEEN ??? LIARS And HATERS And PERVERTS, OH MY !!!!! (519 hits)
What I know now.... I would never let my kids trick or treat ! If ever there was a pagan holiday, you got one there Buddy ! My kids are all grown now, and alot has changed since we were all kids.It was dangerous then, now it's ridiculously so ! Don't mean to take your Joy away But....... There are liars that may entice your kids to come in out of the cold, haters in this world that hate for no reason, including the way this election is going, and perverts on every street. (go to the internet ) And guess what, they love children !!!! This is their season !! Every year there's tainted candy, oh what a treat !! For Petes Sake, if you just have to have this holiday for your children, throw them a party, make it interesting, make it fun, have some games, pop some corn and call it a day. Just be warned, that there's alot going on out there, so just be careful. The same to someone coming to your door, even if it is a child. Personally I don't do none of it. Bah Hum Bug !!!! They call it an, OH WELL ! Peace.
Doc, I know what you mean. It is sad that Halloween is what it is these days. One Halloween I passed out gospel tracks from Jackchick tracts (comic book type tracts) along with lots of candy. It was a blast because I bought so much candy so I was giving candy generously, but the kids were very interested in the tracts. Anyway this time around, I will be going to the church for the little celebration they are having this Friday.

I don't do Halloween, and my daughter doesn't" get it." I tried not to stifle her as a child, but I limited the visitng to 1 hour and it only happened twice.
I don't see anything lovely and of good report as Paul states of how we should conduct ourselves by participating in Halloween. I am not attracted to darkness.

And just because candy is wrapped well, doesn't mean it can't be injected with something, now how spooky is that ??

I use to have Kings and Gueens for holloween for my kids, cause all little girls want to be princesses or Queens and all boys want to be a superhero king. So I would turn that whole holloween trip into something brand new. I threw many parties and the mothers dressed up too. There was music, games, pizza and oh yes, candy. To this day those kids talked about our weenie parties, and you had to make your own costumes. Got plenty of pictures to show, and the kids called each other by their Queen or king names. I think this , looking back now may have inspired me to create Goddesses Blessing Goddesses! You never know where inspiration will come from. LOL , Lol !

Thanks girl, we need to have our own set of holidays and traditions for our children and quit scaring them with foolishness, being out of money, and tell them the frcken truth about things and get back into our own, and like our new president said, "TURN THAT TV OFF", and sit down and read to your children. Don't get me mad, up in here, up in here !!! My kids had every book for children ever made ( wish there had been more Black authors ), but that was the best move I made, more books than toys.

Doc, I agree with you that books are great and adding to what you have said I believe the earlier kids are introduced to them the better. Reading is a precious gift indeed because it allows people to travel via their imaginations to places they might not ever visit. I used love (still do) watching Reading Rainbow with Lavar Burton.

yeah Girl, I was no joke about it with my kids. I told them they could be anything they wanted to be , including president if they wanted. When computers came out, they still had to read and count. Thats why I ended up with a Phd. girl, an MBA girl, and a forensic science girl. Not to toot my own horn, but.... I told them I wouldn't get mad if they didn't get A's in history, gym or art, just bring me the best in math and english and I'd be fine. They all excelled, got diplomas and went to college. that was my phylosophy, count and know how to talk, Lol, we can learn the other stuff later. I'm glad I made them turn those cartoons and silly mess off.And they never disrepected grown, or older people , including in their age range, because they were taught to respect all, especially anyone older than them. They discovered who they wanted to be from reading , writing and arithmetic. LOL. I know I did good, thats why I see these children today, I know all they need is some tender loving care and somebody to take the time and steer them in the right direction.

Yes Doc. I know what you mean. I like to give out candy to kids, but me and my sister take my nephew to homes of people that he already knows very well and he goes to private parties, versus getting a lot of candy from strangers. It's sad, but you just never know anymore. A lot of church organization, (I know my church is conducting) a halloween party for kids where they can play safe and sweet games (no demon games please), and have safe candy. It's fun, the kids connect, and after an hour or two they go home! It's all good! Plus, I spoil my nephew to death with a gigantic bag of candy that will last him forever. He'll be alright. He seems very happy and content! You received great feedback from others. I hope you are doing well!! Have a wonderful day!!
