One full figured in her 30's, one young and vivacious with walnut colored skin, luminous and full of life, and one a product of a union that births a coloring that sometimes causes consternation, and envy.
What my eye focused on was their beauty, collectively and individually. They all struggled, overcoming barriers.
The power of being Black: the ability by sheer will, spiritual beliefs and self-acceptance to capture dreams.

That's a great reminder. Sometimes we do have a tendency to see what needs to be done more than what has done. We miss an excellent opportunity to be inspired when we don't shift our focus every now and then. We, as does every race, have a long way to go, but we have also come a long way. What we as African-Americans have gained is the toughness that it takes to thrive and grow even when the deck is stacked against us. We always rise!
