The Injustice of The "Justice" System & Racial Profiling (424 hits)

Why are so many Black males in jail? Here is part of the problem. It's not just a simple case of Black males committing more crime than White males. Black people are under far more scrutiny than any other racial group in America.

Is This Justice?

"A 2002 Department of Justice survey found that, although the likelihood of being stopped by police did not differ significantly between white drivers and other races, black or Latino drivers were three times more likely to be searched than white drivers.[21] Young white offenders are likely to receive lighter punishments than minorities in America. Black youth arrested for drug possession for the first time are incarcerated at a rate that is forty-eight times greater than the rate for white youth, even when all other factors surrounding the crime are identical. [22][23]

These occurrences make it no surprise that black men are eight times more likely to be in prison than whites."

This quote was taken from Wikipedia.

I had never witnessed police searches of vehicles until I moved below the Mason-Dixon line to the D.C area. I constantly see Black people pulled over and sitting on the side of the road as their cars are searched. Police are given far too much power. There are good cops and bad cops, but their arrest rates really need to be examined to ensure they're not racially profiling people. Do you have any ideas on reducing racial profiling?
