Happiness..I chose that today.. (141 hits)

Today is my b-day..somehow I feel very free. I decided to get up and give myself a luxury bath, and lavish myself with a new outfit, and a new attitude! Everyday, my mom is the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing at night, and sometimes in the middle of the night! at 92 and 3/4rs. She can be called home suddenly, after a long fruitful and good life..Everyone says I am a dutiful daughter, as her 24 hour caregiver, but actually who is the one that is really blessed? Despite being blind, we go out to breaKfast, we go shopping, we talk, we giggle and sing songs together..here is what my new attitude comprises. To remember that every second in her life is truly precious. I do get tired, I have a smorgasboard of responsibilities..her house, her bills, her doctor's appointments and in between my life, my bills and my doctor's appointments..I am in charge of planning..I did NOT want this job..on the Planning committee, but here I am.

As always my other sibling, has flown the coup! doesn't it often happen that way? NOT a care in the world..she comes to see mom ONCE a year..maybe..yes I have been resentful and p.o'd! but then I said wait a minute..what a wonderful opportunity I have been given..A chance to grow really close to my mother, since I used to travel a lot.

A chance to really get to know her. Her struggles, her loves, her dreams, why Thank God for this wonderful time!! and Happy B-day to all Virgo's!!
