Thieves broke in and robbed a Shrine to Jesus in Israel. According to sources The Church of the Transfiguration was invaded by thieves who took an undetermined amount of money from the donation money box and stole several chalices. Some damages were done to icons, but no graffiti or paint was on the walls. The church site is believed to be the location was the Transfiguration of Jesus took place. Officials claim the thefts were by local thieves; and not by extremists groups. The church is located at Mount Tabor in Galilee north of Israel. Thousands visit the shrine each year as part of their tourism.
