Article: BLACK WOMEN ARE THE MOST EDUCATED GROUP IN THE UNITED STATES (536 hits)
Good Morning my BWC ladies, Rise and shine to another bee-you-tiful day. I came across this online article and video and thought I'd share it with you ladies. This is a couple of years old but I feel that it is still very good to listen to. I came across this reading something about African-American poverty and this was actually referenced in that article. I truly wish that I could ask Mr. Morton some questions. I also believe that the ladies are truly running the game when it comes to higher education. But when I see this video with Mr. Morton and then go back and watch the video of the Section 8 event in Portsmouth, I guess it, to me at least, just contrasts each other. I know that the young lady that was being interviewed said that she was planning on going back to school when she was settled into public housing and that was somewhat her stepping stone of getting herself back on track. My question is if we as Black women are the majority of higher education attainers, the money makers, the decision makers when it comes down to products (YES! When it comes down to product purchase, black women ARE the most influential demographic group because we BUY and buy A LOT!) then why are some of us still struggling with poverty, lower-incomes, government assistance? And going back to Mr. Morton's comment about this information was not being reported, it was reported but it was not major news (Well, maybe not to some folks, anyway) Ladies, let us continue to strive and work hard to obtain freedom spiritually, educationally and financially. We were given the keys so let's use them and run with it!!!
