After 10 years of imprisonment . .
A man is forgiven after serving 10 years in prison. The man was given a pardon and forgiveness by Sir Lanka's leader President Maithripala Sirsena for a plot to kill him. The pardon was given to prisoner, Sivaraja Jenivan who received his pardon on January 8, 2016. Jenivan was said to have been an Tamil Tiger insurgent. The pardon took place on the first anniversary of the prime minister election into office. The pardon was set as an example to help with post civil war reconciliations. Sirsena hope is to prevent an ethic war that could be costly repeat to 100,000 lives between 1972 and 2009. Sirsena is instrumented in saving lives and creating harmony of living together. In addition to adding the unitary statue, the President is hopeful to return to a leadership that favors the people of Sir Lanka as well as building government's confident by using a similar constitution followed parliamentary-style democracy in the past. Stages such as forgiveness is one way he has shown loyalty in making peaceful bonding between ethic groups to live and flourish with peaceful living with all citizens.
