A Muslim 14-year-old was arrested for bringing a clock to school.School officials in Irving, Texas, mistook the homemade clock that 9th-grader Ahmed Mohamed brought to school for a bomb. Alarm bells were raised about Islamophobia when one of the arresting officers who greeted Mohamed in the principal's office said, “Yup, that’s who I thought it was,” when he saw the boy. Mohamed had never met the man before.
Mohamed spoke out later in the day yesterday to encourage inquisitive kids like him, telling them, "Don't let them change who you are." He also claimed his civil rights had been violatedbecause he hadn't been allowed to speak to a parent or lawyer while detained by authorities.

@Deacon, I related that the teacher was being cautious, and I do think it was taken a bit too far, I think she should also have known the honesty of her own student, but I do think she acted a bit irrational--in these days it's so difficult to know what students are doing. Overall, I agree there seemed to have been some basis of his race and religion that caused an over action of her choices. However, God meant it for his good he suffered a bit and now he'll reap some rewards! All things that are purposed weapons cannot stop but only manifest a cause.
Plus Deac, it too, late for an apology. They suspended the kids from school for 3 days. If not for the media attention and social media, we'd not here about this. The family is planning to sue them for breaching the child's civil rights. I think its a step in the right direction! We can't allow these racial profiling of American youth.
This young 14 year old kid was taken into a room and interrogated by police for a little over an hour. Now keep in mind that this was a underage kid, was not permitted the call if people, he was without council or representation also keep in mind that if The Police thought it was a bomb, their was no bomb squad called, no dogs to sniff for explosives called or no one was evacuated from that public school building.
Absolutely amazing the things that they want you to believe. That young 14 year old civil rights as a American was violated to create and perpetuate the atmosphere of fear and hate.
What's evidence is that the people in that school system that call themselves administrators, teachers, etc, ... are clueless. No assumptions, but a fact.
We don't know what Mohamed's motivation was, only what he said it was. We don't know what his attitude was during questioning by school staff and police. We don't know what type of clock it was, continuous or interval. Why was it beeping in the middle of English class? People are saying the school and police are racist, because the boy's name is Ahmed Mohamed? We're told to be vigilant, except if the boy's name is Ahmed Mohamed? There's all kinds of talk about ISIS, about them recruiting young people, the President is assassinating Muslims with drones, going into a sovereign country to take out Bin Laden, dumping his body at sea, helping Muslim extremists to topple Libya, but because the boy's name is Ahmed Mohamed he says "cool clock, how'd you like to come to the White House?" Please.

Well, I know that there's a man on death row that I came to know about named Richard Glossip because a loved one asked on Facebook for prayer regarding his case. He's not a boy but a White guy that's innocent. Just 2 days ago, he got a 2 week stay of execution. I'm praying that his life be spared.

A Muslim teen, fourteen-year-old Ahmed Mohamed, bought a strange ticking device to his school, MacArthur High School. His device caused alarm and fear, and he was detained for having what his teacher perceived as a bomb. Police officers said the electronic components and wires inside his Vaultz pencil case (which is the size of a briefcase) looked like a “hoax bomb,” according to local news station WFAA.
When questioned about what the device was, Mohamed wouldn’t answer. Now terror-tied Islamic groups like the Hamas-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), their media lapdogs, and even Barack Obama are waging jihad against the school and the local police.
When police questioned the boy, WFAA reports, they said he was “passive aggressive” and didn’t give them a “reasonable answer” as to why he had brought his contraption to the school. “We attempted to question the juvenile about what it was and he would simply only say it was a clock. He didn’t offer any explanation as to what it was for, why he created this device, why he brought it to school,” said James McLellan of the Irving Police Department.
This whole thing smells like a setup. With ISIS in America, and young moderate Muslims fleeing to Syria to join the terror group, the response of MacArthur High School officials was rational and reasonable. At my website, PamelaGeller.com, I run news stories on a weekly basis of American Muslim teens who have been arrested for trying to join ISIS. Just this week, a Muslim teen from Philadelphia was arrested for an alleged plot to assassinate the Pope during his visit to the United States.
Every day we are warned of new terror threats, increased threat levels. But trying to protect school children is “Islamophobic.” And President Obama agrees, of course. Yes, he has weighed in; Barack Obama himself got into the act, tweeting to Ahmed: “Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It’s what makes America great.”
When I first heard about this story, I wrote at my website that it smelled fishy. Now, as more details have emerged, it positively stinks. The plot has considerably thickened. In what has become one of the most egregious of the faked hate narratives, the bomb hoax clockster turns out to come from a family that has a history of supremacist stunts.
The New York Daily News reported this Wednesday about Ahmed Mohamed’s father, Mohamed ElHassan Mohamed:
One of the earliest instances of the standout citizen making national news was in 2011, when he sensationally stood up to an anti-Islamic pastor and defended the Koran as its defense attorney. That mock trial at a Florida church ended with the book’s burning, to ElHassan’s claimed shock. In an interview with the Washington Post at the time, the devoted Muslim said he’d take on Rev. Terry Jones’ challenge because the holy book teaches that Muslims should engage in peaceful dialogue with Christians.
Also in 2011, ElHassan debated Robert Spencer on the questionf of “Does Islam Respect Human Rights?” Clearly, he was trying to score a victory against a famous “Islamophobe” and thus win a name for himself. ElHassan has been looking for publicity and chances to fight against “Islamophobia” for a considerable period. Now he has seized it, going so far as to claim his son was “tortured” by school and law enforcement officials.
He finally has the cause he has been seeking for so long. School officials were being prudent, protecting the children. Irving, Texas has had its share of jihad and sharia. Two Muslim sisters, Amina and Sarah Said, were honor murdered by their father, execution-style, in Irving several years ago. He is still at large. And Irving, Texas is only half an hour from Garland, Texas – the site of a jihad shooting on a free speech event last May. And the news is regularly riddled with stories of young Muslims, all lovely, sweet achievers, who suddenly — go jihad.
This story is pure agitprop most fatal. “If you see something, say something” is now racism. And for destroying this simple principle of self-protection, young Ahmed Mohamed is a media star. Not only has Barack Obama invited him to the White House, but NASA has also invited Ahmed to meet with them, as has Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook. The whole thing has clearly been a setup, and its effect will be to make Americans less safe. If you ever see a Muslim with a suspicious object, remember the lesson of Ahmed Mohamed: to say something would be “racism.” That could end up being the epitaph of America and the free world.

“Real Time” host Bill Maher is defending the Texas police officers who arrested Ahmed Mohamed, whose homemade clock aroused officials’ suspicions.
Maher said the 14-year-old Muslim boy's clock looked exactly like a bomb.
Look, this kid deserves an apology, no doubt about it, they were wrong, but can we have a little perspective about this?” Maher said on his show on Friday. “Did the teacher really do the wrong thing?”
Univision anchor Jorge Ramos, who was a guest on the show, said Ahmed was arrested because of his ethnicity.
“Because for the last 30 years, it’s been one culture that has been blowing **** up over and over again,” Maher responded.
“What if it had been a bomb?” Maher asked. “So the teacher is supposed to see something that looks like a bomb and go, ‘oh wait, this might just be my white privilege talking’? ‘I don’t want to be politically incorrect, so I’ll just let it go.’”
“He was arrested and they took him off in cuffs and then put him in a cage and burned him,” he said. “Oh, no, that’s ISIS who does that. We put a kid after school for a couple of hours. This is not the end of the world.”

I've looked at that clock many times. That 110 volt power supply was nagging at the back of my mind. I worked with open equipment on a regular basis and know what 110 volts feels like. It really wasn't too bright of him to have those supply wires/terminals exposed.

Mohamed also defended the Quran when pastor Terry Jones tried to burn it In 2012, Florida pastor Terry Jones said he was putting the Quran on trial. Jones had threatened to burn the Quran before, around the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, before eventually being talked out of it by Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
This time, he wanted to stage a trial at his Florida church, and he needed a defense attorney. Mohamed volunteered: "[The church] put an ad on their channel: 'Whoever feels in himself he has the power to defend Quran is welcome,'" he told the Dallas Observer.
The trial ended with Jones declaring the Quran guilty of "crimes against humanity" and setting it on fire. Protests and riots in Afghanistan in response to the burning left seven people dead.
Mohamed, who leads a small congregation of Sufi Muslims, a mystical sect of Islam that is generally more liberal, told the Dallas Observer that he was grateful to have a chance to defend Islam, including his own interpretation of the Quran. He didn't realize the church would actually burn the book, although Jones had threatened to do so before. (He also wanted an excuse to take his family to nearby Disney World, he told the Washington Post.)
But he was undaunted by the experience and looked for a Texas church that would be willing to host his appeal of the verdict.

A child at least in Muslim and Middle Eastern culture has to obey their Father. The Father is the law. This is probably something we here in the Western world can not appreciate. Even our son is afraid to disobey my husband being that he's African. Here in the States, school systems and liberties teach kids to that they don't have to obey parents.

I simply ask you a question and that was to repeat what the 14 year old freshman said to why he brought his home made clock to school, can you do that Steven?
I believe we are a unique nation of immigrants and that is what makes us one of many great countries, but there's room for improvement. We need to be more tolerant of others instead of homophobic, xenophobic, and all the other phobias that are out there in order to be a peaceful nation. This is what is needed.

Perhaps, we all can have a moment of reflection as to why and then find solutions. I personally think it's due in part to the media, ignorance, and fear.
Sometimes, I hear my colleagues making what they think are pro-American sentiments but are actually Xenophobic like give American jobs to Americans (and that doesn't include landed immigrants). If you live in America then you either learn our culture or go back to your country. It's silliness. What does it hurt to learn someone else's culture? Is it really all that hard to do?
Just like in Germany when the good people went silent gave the bad people there change to round up the Jew in that country to create the "Holocaust." The sad part about it that is, it could still happen in this country too.

Now this term Gleichschaltung is a German term, that I remember back in my youth as Among the goals of this policy were to bring about adherence to a specific doctrine and way of thinking and to control as many aspects of life as possible.
Let me get back with you about how this process effected the Protestant church in Germany because off the top of my head, this may well been possible to have something to do with the religious movement in Germany. I think you have a anxiety disorder. I recognize this because I was hypervigilant after 9/11 and so it's better that you get treatment soon. Untreated anxiety related disorders only get worse.
Before I was treated, I was fearful of crowded places so much so that I would prefer to stay in the car while my husband did the clothes shopping or food shopping. By the time I sought treatment, the PTSD had turned into full blown Panic Disorder!
I'm well today and I can truly say that nothing worse will happen to America like September 11th World Trade Center Attacks. Seek treatment asap Steve!

The school administration was wrong and the police had no could to pot Ahmed Mohamed in handcuffs and haul that young lad to jail, bottom line.
