Zoe Kravitz Says Lisa Bonet Is Disgusted By Cosby Allegations (1567 hits)
Zoe Kravitz elaborates on her mom's thoughts on the situation.
Zoe Kravitz is coming into her own as an actress and musician, but there’s still an elephant in the room about one of her parents. Enter Lisa Bonet. Bonet has been mum ever since the rape allegations against Bill Cosby have resurfaced in full force. Raven Symone and Phylicia Rashad have added their commentary about the situation and now, we kinda sorta get some insight on how Lisa Bonet feels, through her daughter.
In a recent interview with the Guardian UK, the interviewer asked Kravitz what her mother’s take was and Kravitz mentioned that her mom hadn’t really spoken to her about the situation.
“She’d plead the fifth, even to me,” the 26-year-old added. “I think she’s just staying out of it.”
However, Bonet does still seem to have an opinion.
“She’s just as disgusted and concerned as everyone else is, but I don’t think she has any insight. It’s news to her as well,” added Bonet.
Kravitz went on to add that her mom is straightforward and that “if there was anything she felt the world needed to know that would help the case or a woman who had been abused, she’d say something.”
Not necessarily. Victims of abuse deal with it differently, and some may never say anything at all. That’s not to say that Bonet was a victim, but trauma isn’t always as straight foward as people believe.
In any event, this is probably the most we’re going to get from the Lisa Bonet side of the spectrum. At this point though, 40 women should be enough to sway public opinion in the direction of concern.
