SIX AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN FOUND DEAD IN JAIL IN JULY, FAMILIES DEMAND ANSWERS (4217 hits)

RT.com--A total of six African-American women have been found dead in police custody in just the last month. Most of the deceased women had been in jail for no more than two days and held for minor charges. Their deaths are all under investigation.

The six women are: Sandra Bland of Texas, Kindra Chapman of Alabama, Joyce Curnell of South Carolina, Ralkina Jones of Ohio, Alexis McGovern of Missouri, and Raynetta Turner of New York.

It has been 17 days since activist Sandra Bland was found hanging in her cell in Texas three days after being arrested for a traffic violation. On Thursday, the activist peace organization CODEPINK joined the DC Chapter of Black Lives Matter in delivering a petition with over 500,000 signatures to the Department of Justice, demanding a thorough investigation into the events surrounding Bland’s arrest and death.

Bland’s death has once again raised questions about how inmates, and particularly women, are treated in custody.

Turner, 44, was the latest African-American woman to die in jail. Her death was discovered in a Mt. Vernon, New York jail cell on Monday.

Turner had been arrested for shoplifting on Saturday and taken to a local hospital after notifying officials of various health issues, according to ABC News affiliate Channel 7. She was returned to her cell Sunday and fingerprinted early Monday morning. Turner was found unresponsive in her cell at 2 pm that same day, and her death is now under investigation.

“All I know is my wife is dead and no one is saying anything,” said Herman Turner, Raynetta’s husband, to ABC.

There are four other women who have been found dead as well. Kindra Chapman, 18, committed suicide in an Alabama jail after being held for only two hours on July 14, following her arrest for allegedly stealing a cell phone.

Alexis McGovern, 28, was found lifeless in her bed at the St. Louis County Jail after being confined to a medical Infirmary on July 17.

Joyce Curnell, 50, was found dead on July 23 at the Charleston County Correctional Facility. Curnell, too, had first gone to the hospital because of a medical issue before being sent to jail. She was arrested for shoplifting.

On Sunday, Ralkina Jones, 37, was found unresponsive in a Cleveland Heights, Ohio jail after a Friday arrest for a domestic dispute with her husband.

There have been more than 600 fatal police encounters with the public in the United States this year, according to the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas.

“Deaths in police custody are often associated with excessive force, medical neglect, or failure to prevent suicide, and they are more common than they should be,” Matt Simpson, senior policy strategist for the ACLU of Texas, told Reuters.

US government prison data shows that 4,309 inmates died in local jails or state prisons in 2012. About one-third of suicides in local jails occurred within seven days of the individual’s being arrested.

Here is the breakdown as follows: The fore mentioned peoples in my comment section are descendants of the "Tribe of Israel" and the America's geography is a prison for them for breaking the laws, statutes, and commandments of the 'Most High.'

The oppressor..... the so-called white man established these lands on rape, murder, and robbery. So it was in the beginning, So should it be in the end.

During the captivity period the so-called white man reduce the natural provider (so-called black man, native indian, latino) to a powerless pawn. He humiliated him in front of his women and children and many black/indian/latino women being his concubine delivered his illegitimate children.

The Slave master showed favor to his children and some of the women were elevated above the other so-called black men/native indian/latino.

Now there is nothing new when it comes to human history because the same actions and reactions have been the similar since the beginning of time.

Let's get to modern times in the late 1940's America became the predominate power in the world as Europe and most parts of Asia were in shambles after World War II.

America became the predominate industrial power and the currency (dollar) became supreme in world trade.

America was able to finance social programs, expand job creation particularly in the government, education, health sectors in particular.

Then he created the welfare programs in the late 1950's to further stimulate consumer spending, however he had an alternative goal of controlling the power of men with these transfer programs.

The elites are mainly so-called Jewish men particularly the Rockefeller's and the Ford Foundation financed the "Women's Liberation Movements" and Planned Parenthood for a explicit goal of controlling the family structures and limited population growth.

The concept of welfare took a producing male out of the financial contributor role in the family structure and many so-called black/native indian/latino women were condition to accept the so-called white man's role to financially support her and her children.

This program was the most effective program to reduce the marriage rate in the so-called black american/native indian/latino communities and lead to the current low marriage rate in modern times.

In the 1920's the so-called black american marriage rate was 90%. (FACT).

From a economic point of view these government programs are very effective for the larger corporate entities as the participants spend immediately the dollars transfer to them through these government subsidies.

The real estate sector would suffer immensely if the "Section 8" program did not exist and deflation would be required to stabilize the market if the subsidies were withdrawn.

Secondarily the growth of Wal Mart was due in part to the enormous transfer programs called "FOOD STAMPS", this program has the fastest turnover rate than any other transfer program.

So the so-called white man (ELITES) did not create these programs because he cared about the so-called black american/native indian/latino/or so-called poor white women and children. He created them for the profitability of his shares in these large corporate entities.

During the 1960's, 70's, 80's, 90's THE USA was able to expand debt since the American dollar reigned supreme as a result of the Gulf Arab States demanding that oil and gas trades be denominated in dollar sales ONLY.

The printing presses grew as the USA created more government, health, education, and other sectors particularly in retail to create more jobs.

The majority of so-called black women work in the fore mentioned sectors particularly social services, government, education, and healthcare.

But the gig will be up soon because the rise of the developing nations that recently have made moves to reduce the dollar's power in the world, particularly China and Russia because they are major players in industrial, finance, and energy sectors.

The developing nations account for over 58% of world trade volume, 80% of the world's population, and over 70% of the foreign currencies reserves.

Once the dollar is reduced more aggressively in world trades then the American government will have no other choice but to cut most programs except those which are essential for the Ederly, mentally ill, handicap citizens.

Racism rises against so-called black americans when the economic situation gets bad in America, while the majority of our people are partying and continuing to be divided the majority of so-called white people and businessmen know that a significant change in the economic landscape will take place.

So called middle class white cops are scared.... you can see it in their faces when they stop black men on routine traffic events.

So... the so-called black women has served his economic prosperity in the past with heavily subsidize transfer programs however the unlimited printing presses will slow down and cuts in social transfer programs WILL BE MADE.

The rise of black male/female incarceration rates are due to the dynamics of the broken black family. The majority of the black male and female prisoner populations come from primarily single headed household structures, the same goes for Native Indians, West Indians, and Latinos.

Oppression usually starts after a nation experiences economic decline or collapse.

That is why all the blogs about so-called black men, women, and children being killed by police will continue at a faster pace in the near future.

The Washington political establishment is militarizing the police forces all over the nation.

So..... the scared so-called white policeman concerned about his economic survival and his historical hatred for the so-called black people, native indian, and latino will continue to rise in the future.

This is his SOCIETY NOT OURS AND HE HAS THE ECONOMIC< POLITICAL< AND MORE IMPORTANTLY MILITARY POWER TO KILL US AT WILL.

AS LONG AS WE ARE DIVIDED HE WILL CONTINUE TO GO AFTER US LIKE HE DID IN THE BEGINNING.

LIKE THE SCRIPTURES STATES: THERE IS NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN WHAT IS BEING DONE HAS BEEN DONE IN THE PAST.

THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT !!!!!

The most interesting point that I see is that none of the victims were Muslims.

@Siebra,
Just curious, do you sleep with an open Quran beside your bed to ward off evil spirits?

I don't sleep with an open Quran sister but I do keep one on the nightstand next to my bed. We as Muslims are encouraged to recite the following verse (which is located in Chapter 2 of the Holy Quran) before going to bed at night:

Allahu la ilaha illahu
Al hayyul kayyum
La ta'a kizuhu sinatun wala naum
Lahumma fis samawati wama fil ard
Manzallazi yashfa'u indahu illa bi iznihi
Ya'alamu ma bayna aidihim wama khalfahum
Wala yihiduna bi shayin min ilmihi illa bima sha'a
Wa si'a kursiyyuhus samawati wal ard
Wala ya udhuhu hizbu huma
Wa huwal aliyul azeem

English Translation:
"Allah! There is no god but He - the Living, The Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him Nor Sleep. His are all things In the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede In His presence except As he permitteth? He knoweth What (appeareth to His creatures As) Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they compass Aught of his knowledge Except as He willeth. His throne doth extend Over the heavens And on earth, and He feeleth No fatigue in guarding And preserving them, For He is the Most High. The Supreme (in glory)."

Prophet Muhammad once said that if one recites this verse before going to sleep, Allah will send an Angel to come and look after you and protect.

I know this is off subject but, My sister, before she died last year, was telling me about some type of demon that would get into her bed while she slept. She told the demon to leave her alone because she belonged to Jesus, but the demon said, “F*ck Jesus”. I told her she needed to place items beside her bed at night to protect herself from witches.

Sister Helen, there are some Muslims that place items beside bed at night (including the Quran) as a form of protection, however many Muslims believe that it is very unwise and disrespectful to leave a Quran lying open by itself without reading it, and this is why it is often said it is best to close it if you are not reciting from it, as you may make yourself vulnerable to worldly matters or worldly conversations.

In some Islamic based stores, you will see a variety of things being sold to ward off evil spirits such as incense sticks, incense holders with Quranic verses inscribed on them, Islamic prayer beads (which look very similar to rosary beads but have distinct variations), and silver-plated jewelry with Arabic writing inscribed on them. I have seen some expectant mothers wearing Arabic themed silver bangles to guide them throughout their pregnancies and childbirth.

Oh interesting... Bangles... I find different beliefs fascinating... I just wanted to chime in. Growing up my grandmother Khadr a cross hanging on the wall ... I personally don't have religious symbols up nor around my home. I have several bibles around simply because I am a lover of books...
Ok... Sorry... Back on subject...
