Officer Suspended After His Actions Toward Bikini-Clad Girl On Camera ‘ Raised Concerns ’ (856 hits)
A Texas police officer was recently suspended after video footage surfaced showing him wrestling a bikini-clad girl to the crowd and pointing his gun at a group of unarmed teenagers. Officials said the officer’s conduct “raised concerns.”
The unnamed officer was placed on administrative leave while the McKinney Police Department, near Dallas, conducts an investigation into his behavior during Friday night’s disturbance call.
According to cell phone footage of the incident, the officer runs after a group of teenagers and then pulls them to the ground, despite their protests that they are merely attending a party at a community pool. The Daily Mail reported that the police report filed for the incident says that the police were called regarding a disturbance involving several minors who didn’t have permission to be at the pool.
Around the three-minute mark in the video, the officer in question can be seen wrestling a young woman to the ground. That behavior only causes the situation to escalate, which resulted in the officer producing his gun.
The situation was eventually brought under control with the help of nine additional police units.
According to Brandon Brooks, the person who posted the footage to YouTube, the melee started as a small fight between a mom and a girl.
“When the cops showed up everyone ran, including the people who didn’t do anything. So the cops just started putting everyone on the ground and in handcuffs for no reason. This kind of force is uncalled for especially on children and innocent bystanders,” he wrote in the video’s description section.
An adult male was arrested and the 14-year-old girl in the video was detained but not charged following the incident, KTVT-TV reported. No injuries were reported, however.
