Where a young 17 year woman agreed to marry a feared police force official took place on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Many of Russia's residents found the marriage a total outrage. This is because the marriage was carried on despite of Russian law which forbids a second marriage. Chechen Police official Nazhud Guchegov a 47 year old married for the second time to Chechen Kheda Goilabiyeva who is only 17. Media took storm over the wedding after discovering that the wedding was carried out against Russian laws, but was permitted under Isalmic law.
Tensions sparked with investigations of the slayings of Russian opposition lead Boris Nostov last month, and possible ousting of one of Putin's allys Chechen Ramzan Kadynov who also attended the wedding. Russian media drew more attention to the wedding, reporting that the bride was devastated, and though consenting to marry; she was not appearing as a contented bride and second wife.
