The residents in the village of Pahoa are fleeing for safety. They seek refuge from from burning lava coming for the Kilauea volcano. Recent bursting from a new vent has caused the town's residents to leave as burning roads and hillsides are in flames and smokes. Latest measurements of the lava flow is reported as 55 yards and advanced to 275 yards as of Sunday, October 26, 2014. At least 800 residents are leaving in hopes that the lava will stop and their homes may be saved. Kilauea is on the Big Island and has been erupting since 1983. Many residents are frustrated as they will watch they homes burn away.
