PASCAGOULA, Mississippi-- Many people are asking questions about what happened to little AvaLynn, including her mother, according to Gulflive.com.
Her mother filed a police report after the girl sported two black-eyes as a result of what Arlington Elementary School officials said was an accident on the playground.
"The mother alleges another child kicked her child on the slide," Lt. Jim Roe of the Pascagoula Police Department said. "Right now, there's no indication something criminal took place. I have spoken with school security and an assistant superintendent is investigating the matter."
The district issued a statement.
"A student was injured while playing on the playground at Arlington Elementary School Tuesday afternoon. School officials responded to the situation. The parent was contacted and the student received medical treatment. No other children were involved in the incident. The Pascagoula School District remains committed to the safety of all its students."
Adding to the questions is a Facebook page created called "Justice for AvaLynn." It's already garnered 13,000 "likes" and it asks for donations to a GoFundMe site.
It also offers an explanation of why AvaLynn's mother is suspicious.
"AvaLynn informed Lacey [AvaLynn's mom] that she was assaulted by another student: that she was kicked repeatedly in the face until she fell off of the slide on the school's playground. The school informed Lacey were no teachers present when the incident occurred, and because of that, no one could prove whether or not another student had harmed Ava," a post reads.
The GoFundMe page has raised $2,000 since it was posted, in an effort to receive medical cost assistance and compensate Lacey for missing work.
Pascagoula police told Gulflive that there is no active investigation.
I can't see a 4 or 5 year old kicking a child's face in this severely, even more than once. For this precious baby to receive two black eyes indicates that there was more than just kicking going on. Someone punched her in the face, someone much bigger than her.
Where were the adults when all this was taking place? Aren't there supposed to be teachers out there with the kids?

Truth B. Told
I applaud the parent(s) for standing up for what is right. I don't have any kids, but if something like that happened to my daughter or son I'd sue for every damn cent that school district is worth and then some.

That's the same thing I said when looking at this pic, as badly bruised as she is, it's clear that someone older did something to her. Being that they are so little and outdoors.. why wasn't their any adult supervision? They couldn't hear her scream or cry?
UPDATE FROM AVALYNN'S MOTHER: GoFundMe keeps removing the photos of Ava's injuries claiming they are too graphic. Why should we concern ourselves with this incident like we are doing when it is no different from all the other sufferings and afflictions Black Americans has historically sustained for 500 years?
Should we not be concerned about how to permanently put an end to Black America’s afflictions?
When are we going to discuss an end to Black Americans afflictions?
