Mudslides dumped heavily on residents in Hiroshima leaving at least 30 persons deceased. Homes were covered with mud after heavy rains down poured over 3.5 inches in less than an hour and over 8 inches within three hours. According to sources such heavy rains causes mountainous areas like those in Hiroshima to dislodge and slide. A similar mudslide also killed many in 1999 resulting from heavy rains. Clean-up has begun, but there are still recoveries of bodies under the muddy mountain's landscape.
