July 28, 2014 is the 7th annual global acknowledgment of World Hepatitis Day. This Day is a call to action for the more than 1.5 million people worldwide who die each year from viral hepatitis. Viral hepatitis is severely neglected and is the world’s 8th leading cause of death--surpassing HIV/AIDS. World Hepatitis Day also raises awareness and serves to highlight the need for access to testing, treatment, better prevention programs and government action. It is especially important to Hepatitis Foundation International and we ask patients, families, health care providers, organizations, governments and countries nationally and internationally to get involved.
Whatever you do to observe this day, please take action and help bring awareness to everyone you know. For more information see: http://www.HepatitisFoundation.org. feedback to ceo@hepatitisfoundation.org.
