Coping With A Co-Worker's Body Odor Takes Tact
It's summer. It's sweaty. And sometimes that means people are trailing some pungent body odors that their colleagues can't help but smell. But how do you tactfully inform co-workers that they stink and need to address it? As Cath Ludeman-Hall will tell you, it isn't easy.
She was just out of college and a newbie at a staffing firm when she was asked to gently talk to an older worker in a retail warehouse after his colleagues complained that he stank.
Do you cope with this or tell them straight? I say if you can smell yourself, you know others can too. However, I have met a young lady that knew about her underarms smell that was always "musty" I recommended that she washed under her arms several times a day, and apply decorate the same manner. Over the years, I think she outgrown her problem, or she found a underarm protectant that really worked. Last time I saw her she didn't smell at all.
