So many of us have easy access to our checking and savings accounts that we sometimes take for granted the millions of American who rely on pawn shops, money orders, check cashing locations and payday loans, just to take care of their day-to-day affairs.
The new documentary, Spent: Looking for Change, reveals some of the harsh realities of our broken financial system and how many Americans are managing their finances within it. Narrated by Tyler Perry, the documentary looks at four American families whose lives have been significantly impacted by financial setbacks. Perry recalls his own financial setbacks and he hopes that the film, sponsored by American Express, will motivated and inform people who face similar setbacks in life.
Executive produced by Davis Guggenheim, director and producer of films like An Inconvenient Truth and Waiting for Superman, the issues addressed in Spent: Looking for Change are sure to resonate with the over 70 million Americans impacted by this issue.
