Bought a new laptop recently (a Gateway which runs on Windows 8) and the Norton anti-virus protection expired. I downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials to my computer and now EVERY TIME I go from page to page all of these different pop-up ads appear. I went to the Control Panel icon and uninstalled as many software programs that I think is causing this problem but it still happens.
I haven't used Windows 8, but somewhere in the browser there should be a 'configure' menu selection that lets you set the browser to block pop ups. I think.
