Peasant Jacinta isn't getting laughs like before; but making anger...
When television shows strike up what is comical sometimes those watching often get another message. Peruvians found that with a television show airing a comedy show featuring a woman named Jacinta. It could be the jokes are funny, but little humor is viewed on how she is dressed and presented. Jacinta is a toothless, two braided woman with colorful clothing which makes fun of Peru's race of Andean women and culture.
The race of Andean are considered impoverished and lacks much education and often have little dental care and poor wages work in fields and rural areas farmers. However the television program has proven successful in its ratings over the years now has groups in leadership positions saying they are fed up with poking fun at their race. Usually. these type of television characters are portrayed by men dressed in the women clothing. The television station claims that the show's character is not demeaning to the race of " cholas "people and denies that the show is offensive.
As far as racism some leadership activists insist that there is really existing prejudices thriving in Peru and not everyone has been shown equality of living. They want the indications of derogatory demonstrating of television characters off the screen!!
