After the earthquake shook Washington in 2011 renovations took place to restore the historic building back to prime if not better condition than before. Hundreds were waiting to be first to see the new renovations which were repaired from damages inside and out side with splits and broken pieces in the strong earthquake. The process for restoring those pieces were painstaking and dangerous but finally it's repaired and it's doors are reopened. Tourists were also elated to be firsts to see it all. The fantastic view and the steps all the way up to the top floor. Turnout to the tours were successful for it's first day and its waiting tours also included a ceremonial program, and many dressed in costume and enjoyed live honors. The doors were officially opened May 12, 2014 to those who will follow in future viewing.
