Are Your Eyes Really Windows To Your Soul : What Are They Saying About the State of Your Soul? (858 hits)
Close your eyes for a few seconds and notice how you’re feeling. Are you confident, scattered, hopeful, or weary? How would you describe the state of your soul? Your soul is the source of what makes you alive. It’s the spiritual side of your nature that includes your thoughts, feelings, will, and motivation. Although you can’t see it, your soul expresses itself in everything you do. To thrive, it needs mindful care.
In his book, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde observes that few people know how to nurture their souls:
"To realize one's nature perfectly—that is what each of us is here for. People are afraid of themselves, nowadays. They have forgotten the highest of all duties, the duty that one owes to oneself. Of course they are charitable. They feed the hungry and clothe the beggar. But their own souls starve..."
Wilde’s words echo Scripture, which counsels you to, “Guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it” (Proverbs 4:23). The message could not be any clearer:
If you hope to live a vibrant, empowered life, you must learn to care for your soul.
This conviction compelled me to write my soon-to-be-released book, Reclaim Your Soul: Your Journey to Personal Empowerment (available March 1st). This critical message will teach you to not only identify, but to also change the behavioral patterns that short-circuit the health of your soul.
You’ll learn:
To sever unhealthy soul-ties—those destiny altering and purpose undermining emotional attachments. To open the floodgates of living water so every stagnant pool hidden in the recesses of your psyche is flushed away.
To recapture and reveal the brilliance of your own divine spirit. Learn to reclaim your soul! Develop the disciplines and habits necessary to live more resiliently—exercise your power to create a more abundant life. This is what empowerment is all about.
Is it time for you to take your inner life more seriously? Is it time for you to live more authentically? Than it’s time to reclaim your soul!
Praying God’s best for you,
“The soul is placed in the body like a rough diamond; and must be polished, or the luster of it will never appear.”
