Hempstead, NY - November 13th, 2013 - On December 6, 2013 the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. hosted its monthly “Business Card Exchange & Breakfast Series” at Loli’s Soul Food Restaurant in Hempstead supporting its mission of advancing and promoting economic development for businesses in the counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Kings Counties.

Approximately 40 professionals and small business owners attended the event and were afforded the opportunity to pitch their business. Barbara Whiting, U.S. Small Business Administration Economic Development Specialist was the guest speaker. Barbara Whiting highlighted the programs the U.S. Small Business Administration offer to Minority Owned Businesses.

“I joined the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce to network with like-minded businesspeople. LIACC has become a family of Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island entrepreneurs and community businesses.

Thru the Chamber, small businesses such as mine, Precision Healthcare Consultants, (www.precisionhcc.com) that have helped doctors sustain financial viability since 1996, are able to share years of expertise and become a resource for advice to new businesses.

The outreach programs, access to workshops and small business counseling, along with additional support for growing my business is a welcome benefit in these challenging times. I want my business to tap into a pool of knowledge and resources that can help build a community that supports my business, a business that supports my community.
