MEDITATE SUNDAY: MEDITATION ELEMENTS (384 hits)

Blessings!
Always with LOVE...

How wonderful to do your part of worship with meditation. For it is time set aside from all else of your day's involving of other things. God's time is valuable to one who meditates day and night. Thus, meditation should have order and elements to sanctify your prayers, praise, worship, and requests.

The elements can include :

Focused Attention:
The full attention of the Word should be deeply in the mind and entire self. Giving God full focus in the meditation is one of the best elements to begin, and continue throughout your meditation time.

Relaxed Breathing:
A calmness should also be among your time of meditation. Relax with the Spirit of the Lord to guide with the discernment of your body. Giving complete ease and comfort to give your true body, and heart meanings.

A Quiet Setting:
It is very important that you can have a quiet setting. Find the space where your can know you can be undisturbed. Look for a space in your home, car, or favorite out of doors area. Even if is in the privacy of your bed.

A Comfortable Position:
You can find a position suitable for yourself. Folded arms, folded hands. relaxed in standing or sitting, even kneeling on a chair or in a praying position. Make it comfortable so that you will not feel overstressed to maintain a position that is to hard. Of course, you can practice with several positions to find one that suitable for meditation time.

Along with these elements, allow God to be your meditation voice. You may sing, or pray and worship and reading the WORD are always ways you have the Meditation elements which may please the Lord.

"Let your lions be girded about,
and your lights burning;
And ye yourselves like unto men
that wait for their lord, whom he
will return from the wedding;
that when he cometh and knocketh,
they may open unto him immediately."

Elements of meditation prepares you for each day to be graceful and obedient unto the Lord. As many in meditation wait for the return of the Lord and to be ready.

Let the words of my mouth the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight O'Lord my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

I need to start meditating again. I visited a Zen center in San Francisco (actually Marin) and was shown a very good and comfortable body position, which is hard to explain but easy to demonstrate. It works very well at blocking out external stimuli and allowing the mind to focus.

Steve,

You should start again. Great for stress, clearer thinking, good blood pressure and calmness.
Closeness to Divinity too!
