"I Think Trayvon Flipped The Switch!" Charles Barkley Says He Agrees With Zimmerman Verdict (VIDEO) (1481 hits)
Former NBA Hall-of-Famer (and outspoken host) Charles Barkley decided to speak out on the George Zimmerman verdict on CNBC earlier this week.
When asked about his assessment of the case, Barkley said that he agrees with the verdict.
“Well I agree with the verdict,” Barkley said. “I feel sorry that young kid got killed, but they didn’t have enough evidence to charge him."
He also says he thinks that Zimmerman did follow Trayvon Martin, but something went wrong and Trayvon attacked Zimmerman.
"Something that happened that night that changed the dynamic...Mr. Zimmerman was wrong, but I think Trayvon Martin, God rest his soul, he did flip the switch and started beating the hell out of Mr. Zimmerman."
While he agreed that Zimmerman racially profiled Trayvon, he blasted the media for encouraging a negative race conversation in the nation.
"The main thing I feel bad for is it gives every white person and black person who’s racist a platform to vent their ignorance."

I'll take it one step further... the prosecution had no case, because the main witness wasn't credible! And just because Sir Charles doesn't jump on the Race Card bandwagon, doesn't mean he has alterior motives. He's always been outspoken like this even when he was 'on the court' and I like Free people who speak their minds. We need more of us around.

Please keep in mind that I'm not a lawyer, but a nurse by profession. In my field of practice, when a treatment isn't deemed as effective we either try something else or a combination of therapies.
What I'm saying is simple and what I've been saying all along... she didn't help the case. In addition to this, I think the mother should have taken to the stand to give the juriors a inside view of who Trayvon was. She would have made a very strong impression and why she didn't is a mystery. Perhaps as I've felt the prosecution wasn't really trying to put Zimmerman away. It's plausible.
I think in law... they call it a character witness. Trayvon's mother would have made a strong character witness and plus a crying mother would get empathy from others especially female jurors... at least I would think.
..."Notyour world Jen, her world."... The court looked at her the same way. I was taught that you only get one time to make a first good impression. She blew it for Trayvon's family and for Trayvon.
Jen, when I speak of her world I am speaking of her age among other things. One thing I constantly reminded myself when raising my children was what I was like at their age. She is 19 Jen, and I doubt I would have done half as well as she did at that age.

I wouldn't expect Trayvon's parents to say anything less, because they have been nothing less than a picture of grace. I realize that there is nothing can be said more here so I agree that we all have our own opinions. I will gracefully agree to disagree here regarding the prime witness, Rachel. But what Sir Charles said makes a lot of sense although it may not be popular.
Jen, let's see how she does during the federal trial. She'll have a ton more experience by then.

I like how you are out thinking Jen with logic and common sense reasoning concerning Rachel in her world and the world of her peers and not Jen’s world. Rachel was an actual ear shot witness and a good one at that leading up to the killing and after the killing when the phone went dead. She said she heard the gun shot.

Having said this I would add that from testimony of juror #37 who sympathized with Zimmerman from the start she had to bash Rachel to find Zimmerman innocent.

The way I see it, the police must announce themselves and fire in the air as a warning to suspects. Zimmerman knows the procedure, but I don't believe that Zimmerman announced himself as the neighborhood watchman that fatal night.
