YOUR NATIONAL NEWS MAY 2013 DAY 8
It's the first time in history!
A new U.S. Census report showed data which concluded that Blacks voting in 2012 elections broke history for the largest turnout over that than Whites. The Census noted that Blacks showed up in volumes higher than Whites in certain areas of the United States. Blacks statistics indicated by the Census showed that voter's turn out grew from 52% to 66.2%. In numbers that estimates that 18 million Blacks voted last fall increasing the number to about 1.7 million more Blacks voting in 2008.
Reasons were speculated because of the Black candidate for re-election of the President of the United States Barak Obama. The Census presented the highest turnout among Blacks over Whites occurred in the East and Midwestern states. The Census also reflected data that Latino voting numbers also grew comparable from 2008 to 1.4 million. Whites living in the West voting still outnumbered Blacks and Latinos in that area of the country. The Census Report based this information on the survey data collected in November 2012. This rise in voter turnout made history because it has never been as high among Black voters over Whites including the first time right for Blacks to vote in the early 1960's.
