Sûrat AnNisâ’ (The Women) IV In the Name of Allâah,the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
1. O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person, Adaam, and from him He created his wife Hawwâ (Eve), and from them both He created many men and women; and fear Allâah through Whom you have mutual rights, and do not cut the relations of Family. Allâah is Ever an All-Watcher over you.
24. Forbidden to you are women already married, except those who you have been given responsibility. This Allâah ordained for you. All others are lawful, provided you seek them in marriage with Mahr (Value given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage) from your property, desiring chastity, not committing illegal s*xual intercourse, so with those of whom you have enjoyed s*xual relations, give them their Mahr as prescribed; but if after a Mahr is prescribed, you agree mutually to give more, there is no sin on you. Surely, Allâah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.
25. Who ever of you do not have the means to wed free, believing women, they may wed believing females from among those who you have been given responsibility, and Allâah has full knowledge about your Faith; you are one from another. Wed them with the permission of their own Auliyâ’(family, guardians, or those responsible for their care) and give them their Mahr according to what is reasonable; they should be chaste, not committing illegal s*x, nor taking boyfriends. After they have been taken in wedlock, if they commit illegal s*xual intercourse, their punishment is half that for free unmarried women. This is for him among you who is afraid of being harmed in his religion or in his body; but it is better for you that you practise self-restraint, and Allâah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
26. Allâah wishes to make clear what is Lawful and what is Unlawful to you, and to show you the ways of those before you, and accept your repentance, and Allâah is All-Knower, All-Wise.
27. Allâah wishes to accept your repentance, but those who follow their lusts, wish that you Believers should deviate tremendously away.
28. Allâah wishes to lighten the difficulty for you; and man was created weak.
29. O you who believe! Eat not up your property among yourselves unjustly except it be a trade among you, by mutual consent. And do not kill yourselves or kill one another. Surely, Allâah is Most Merciful to you.
30. Who ever commits that through aggression and injustice, We shall cast him into the Fire, and that is easy for Allâah.
31. If you avoid the great sins which you are forbidden to do, We shall take away from you your small sins, and admit you to a Noble Entrance (Paradise).
32. Do not wish for the things in which Allâah has made some of you to excel others. For men there is reward for what they have earned, and the same for women there is reward for what they have earned, and ask Allâah of His Bounty.
