YOUR NATIONAL NEWS FEBRUARY 2013 Day 20 Washington
Jessie Jackson, Jr. pleaded guilty on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 to money laundering and spending campaign funds. Weeping before a Federal Judge, Jackson admited openly he spent the money on buying expensive items such as fur coats, and a 43,000 Rolex watch. He gave a tearful apology as he admitted he was guilty. In addition, Jackson's wife a former Chicago alderman, also pleaded guilty to filing and falsefying income tax reports. The former Democratic Congressman was stated as spending at least 750,00 of campaign monies. If sentenced Jackson, Jr. could face up to 4 or 5 years in prison. Jackson was quoted as saying "for years I lived off my campaign money."
I'm glad that he can openly admit he was wrong. I feel he's showing a contrite heart with that if I had to I would forgive him. Yet, he's seems to ready to pay the price of his wayward actions.
