Hi Irma. I agree with you whole heartily. To add to it, it’s sad to think in the year 2012 we are still fighting for an equal playing field in all sectors; and it is our fault! We haven’t properly utilized our economic strength: 1.03 Trillion dollars worth this year alone.
A long time ago, I removed the obvious reason e.g. 300 + years of free labor. Hell, if you don’t have to pay someone for 300 years, dammit, you should be doing quite well. So I decided to look at it from another perspective; when creating a business most likely the people you envision working for you look like you. It’s a fair assumption.
Now, here comes the government telling me I have to hire this person who doesn’t look like me. Why don’t they or why haven’t they created their own? So, until we get our act “House” in order and build businesses in every industry sector- Affirmative Action must stay in place as a barometer for balance, aka Fairness. Without it, you have Chaos.

Actually I am wrong, because if ou don't know your own history there si no way you can even be able tounderstand the true puropse of A-A...and, while I am at it tis is just like the ret of the laws we accomplished in th epast will no longer work in tis century...for one, this country has become more enclusive and acceptance of diversity...example, the original A-A was in truth reversE discrimination as it was an ALL BLACK EXCLUSIVE CLUB IN A SENSE...IT SPECIFIED THIS...NO WHITES ALLOWED NOT EVEN THE MOST DOWN AND OUT AND NOT ALLOWED IN BY THEIR BETTER OFF WHITES/MIDDLE-CLASS.
Know how we today say that the illegals are taking away American jobs from honest hard working Americans, well this was us when times got hard say like during the depression...yes, we got hung for taking jobs, we qualified for so they would burn down our towns, hang us, ect. A-A was to put a stop to this and deem us worth of any jobs we qualified for...this got turned into the expression "token' where at least one Black had to be given the job, hands up...then the White woman took this spot and the rest is history!!! If we got ahead it was not because we earned it it was due to a-a, ect.now it does not even enclud us any more or else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JAMES we have not been able to over come being taught that Dr. King and Malcom X could never be on the same page, because the NOI don't fit the powers that be's image of Blackness...
We have not been able to over come being taught to hate the Black Panthers who are the direct cause of things like Racial Profiling being illegal as well as teaching our people a false history / AS BEING ILLEGAL of their BIA....
