POETRY SUNDAY: EXPRESSING COLORS IN POEMS (562 hits)
I being a favorite of colors came about a very quaint poem expressing poetry in red. It is a very short verse I found amusing and most intelectual. What else I thought is quite suitable for color than in poetry.
WHY POETRY IS RED Written by Russell H. Strauss
Poems sweeten our bread and butter Like strawberry jam. Their words are metrical match flames; yet, softly spoken, they become fire engines to quench disquietude. Poems are red prom carnations
pressed between the pages of prose. They are copper pennies in a mind's pocket or Santa suits that dress imagination in the velvet of sound. The kiss of verse leaves lipstick traces on the soul. Poetry bleeds.
