Secondhand Smoke’s Toll Heavy on African-Americans (315 hits)

A study of the impact of secondhand smoke in 2006 found that more than 41,000 American adults and nearly 900 infants died of secondhand smoke-related diseases, according to new study in the American Journal of Public Health. The study also found that African-Americans had a much greater exposure to secondhand smoke than whites, particularly among African-American men ages 45-64. African-American women ages 20-44 had a higher exposure rate than any other group of women.
