OCCUPY MOVEMENT CELEBRATES ONE YEAR WITH ARRESTS (594 hits)

Occupy Wall Street celebrated it's one year birthday September 17, 2012. In New York at least one thousand demonstrators showed up to keep the movement thriving. Situations in the protest turn out geared in having dozens of demonstrators arrested. Police in New York baracaded a large block off between the perimeter of the New York stock exchange. It was reported that turnout of demonstrators was much lesser than expected and media coverage reported that the Occupy is slowly dying down. However, the one anniversary showed at least 124 demonstrators were arrested by mid-day. Occupy organizers are stern in their statement claiming they are very vibrate and thriving. The Occupy movement spread across several state and in other countries in it's year of growning, but much less interest has given the movement a downturn. The major goal of Occupy intention was attain U.S. social activist and demand economic justice. In addition, public support of the movement has decreased and shrinked which was shown by less participation than it's original day of protest one year ago today. Protestors diplayed their slogan "I AM THE 99 PERCENT"
