I recently watched a Black preacher on television tell his congregation to stop socializing on the internet because they were going to get a virus. Does that sound normal?

I have a relative who was once a drug addict and now wants to be a minister. I realize that God is forgiving of our past sins, but why are there so many ex- drug users in the pull-pit. I don't think I can confront this person with this question because they develope talents that use Jesus like a genie in a bottle.
