Shakespeare starts it off..
Sonnet IV
Unthrifty loveliness, why dost thou spend Upon thy self thy beauty's legacy? And being frank she lends to those are free; The bounteous largess given thee to give? Profitless usurer, why dost thou use So great a sum of sums, yet canst not live? For having traffic with thy self alone, Thou of thy self thy sweet self dost deceive; Then how when nature calls thee to be gone, What acceptable audit canst thou leave? Thy unused beauty must be tombed with thee, Which, used, lives th' executor to be. [William Shakespeare]
I am waiting for my Knight on a horse To carry me off. Mystic and wonderful knight.
The day breaks and my knight has not yet arrived.
There in the field, I picked daises and recite
"He loves me, ...He loves me" Never saying "He loves me not!"
He loves me... it's all I can say.
Then saying it again, he takes my hand, lifts me up, carries me to the horse where we ride off into the land of love... Forever. --MIISRAEL WINNIESPOETRY 2002
