DEAR GARDENERS: THE GRASS IS GREENER IN MARCH (2279 hits)

March 2012
18th Day

Dear Gardeners!

The first day of Spring is March 2oth and already the grass is greener in March, and the mowing sounds of lawn mowers have; or is ready to echo over yards everywhere. I had to update my lawnmower because my old one rattles and shakes so badly I couldn't bear it. It just wasn't cutting like it used. What did I expect though since it's nearly 8 years old? I and my son went shopping for another one.

Shopping for a new mower is quite a task at first unless you know exactly what you're looking for. I couldn't afford a riding lawn mower right now, and I knew right away that selection was out of the question. We shopped around at a few places, first the pawn shops, then two stores. Pawn shop prices were steep! It's amazing they wanted the same price for used mowers as a new one....I couldn't figure and they were not willing to bargin for a bid. The department stores had various prices, a little steep too, but they were at least new. Finally, we visited Home Depot store and found one that fitted my budget and did all I was requiring of a new mower for my lawn. Wouldn't you think that lawn mower stores would be cheaper...not so in my town I found them price heighty too.

What do you look for in your new lawn mower? Well it depends on your own specific needs. If you want a self-propelled mower, does it mulch as you mow? Does it come with a grass catcher, will it be durable enough to handle tall grass if necessary, lastly I found most importantly if is the most reasonable price for your wallet? These are questions I answered in making a new purchase.

My son of course, will be the one to cut the lawn, so I took his thoughts in consideration...I think he felt noteworthy he'd receive that task! LOL! Grass and weeds love to habitat. So many yards will need a weed killer like mine does. Weeds are tough to kill and will they take over 90% of your grass if allowed. Lawn services can help with that, but you can do it yourself as well. Many brands are on the market you'll just have shop around. Next project, is selecting a weed eater, or trimmer. I was willing, but my son wanted to wait another week or so. I'm guessing he didn't want to buy it since he promised he'd be the one to buy the trimmer....Sons are something else!! Ha!... I did my part, he'll be the one to buy the trimmer but I suggested he doesn't put it off for long.

If you're like me thinking --if grass is green already, it may be a sign of a long hot summer of mowers sounding throughout neighborhoods. Be ready with a new mower!!

It's been fun writing you. Got suggestions on purchasing mowers or best ways to shop? Please feel free to let me know. I've already bought one, but I'm one who takes notes and when it comes around for a next time purchase I can have your tips around. Who knows, perhaps I can also pass it along. Ending this letter with allegeries in mind! It's the season of the green grass.. I'll write soon.

SO HOW DOES YOUR GARDENS GROW?

I'd love to know...

MINE GROWS WITH LOTS OF LOVE

Love,
MIISRAEL

Bless you Sister Betty...always such kindness in your words. I'm thankful and it's good to know you can share good thoughts of kindness with others that are not local in your present community. We have a very real connection as sisters right here. Maybe, I love outdoors too! It's refreshing...!
Love, :>)
