CRUISE SHIP COSTA ALLEGRA NIGHTMARE ENDS (595 hits)
YOUR WORLD NEWS FEBRUARY 2012 29TH DAY Seychelles
The luxury cruise ship Costa Allegra turned into a cruise's nightmare as fire was a large scare for some 1,000 passengers. The fire was contained and dispersed, but there was no power; nor running water for drinking or showers/or bathing. This left a heated nightmare on board to the many tense moments of waiting to be towed. Three days passengers endured hot weather and cold sandwiches with bottled water assisted from aid during the slow travel back to land. In addition the satire in the circumstances also involved pirate infested territories. Many of the passengers thought at first grip of panic the ship will be abandoned since the fire was the major cause of the ship's unopperational functions. However, with somewhat suttle relief the ship received confirmation the situation of fire was no longer a threat and that help from a tug along with coastal aid would soon end their three day journey to safer waters. The ship finally reached Seychelles on February 29, 2012.
